Property of Rachel Corrie

'Property of Rachel Corrie' was a companion immersive installation that continued the conversation from Ranae Haskins' Graduate Thesis audio play, 'My Name is Rachel Corrie' Edited by Katherine Viner and Alan Rickman. Completely built over three days in a basement classroom, this piece honored Rachel's ingenuity. The space itself was devised to be a dream-like version of Rachel Corrie's bedroom from Olympia, Washington with a view into her time volunteering in Gaza. This collaboration between Haskins and The Warped Collective offered a tinge of the full audio performance through an abstract and immersive experience designed for one person, in which the audience member can flip through lost journals left on busses, open drawers of reimagined society, catch glimpses of growth and never ceasing dreams, and attempt to make decisions for a woman who could never predict the next 5 minutes herself.
